In March 2022, I received a grant from the India Foundation for The Arts (IFA) for my research on cultural change, its development and interventions in general, and specifically in the Shina culture of Gurez and Tuleil. Analysing it within the framework of the region’s particular political history but also positioning it in the contemporary political history of Kashmir post 1947. This research is a glimpse into the world of Shina Culture, a world within a world. The research was done through ethnographic method and oral histories, but not within a lot of academic frameworks.
